"Inventory on the site was way off"
I ordered a pair of shoes because the site showed my size was in stock, and I even got the confirmation email like everything was good. Then the next day they emailed me saying they actually didn’t have them available.
This is the second time this has happened to me with Sports Basement, so it’s frustrating. If the inventory isn’t accurate, it really shouldn’t show as available. Just wasted my time and now I have to go look for shoes all over again, which is annoying

"Pretty happy with my Sports Basement purchase"
I picked up a pair of running shorts and a water bottle from Sports Basement, and overall, I’m happy with them. The quality is, like, good, and both items feel like they’ll hold up for a while. The shorts fit nicely even after I washed them, which was a relief. The water bottle did have a small scratch on it, so it wasn’t totally perfect, but, you know, not a huge deal for me. All in all, I’m glad with what I got.

The staff was friendly once I found someone to help me, but it did take a little while to track anyone down. It’s kind of hard to describe, but the experience wasn’t bad at all, just felt average overall.

"I ordered a pair of running shoes..."
I ordered a pair of running shoes and a bike light from sportsbasement.com, and the bike light showed up just fine. The shoes, though, were the wrong size, which was extra frustrating because my confirmation email clearly had the right size on it. Like, okay, so where did things go sideways here?
Customer service did respond, so I’ll give them that, but it took a couple days. Then they asked me to send photos of the box and the shoe tag, which I get, but also I’m sitting there thinking, I already sent the order info, why am I doing detective work for shoes?
They did give me a free return label, so it wasn’t a total mess. Still, it was annoying enough that I’d be hesitant to order shoes from them online again. Not the worst experience ever, just not as accurate or smooth as I’d expect

"I used to check Sports Basement first…"
I used to check Sports Basement first because I figured it would be cheaper, but lately I just have not been seeing the value. A lot of the stuff I looked at was the same price or even higher than other stores, and the deals did not feel like real deals after comparing around a bit. Shipping and fees can make it feel even less worth it too. For basic sports gear, I would rather shop somewhere else. I am not saying everything there is bad, it just is not the best option for me anymore...

"Shipping Felt Way Too Pricey"
I was kind of annoyed when I saw the shipping cost. The item itself was fine, but the extra charge for delivery felt like too much and definitely took some of the excitement out of ordering.

"Kind of a disappointing community event"
I went to this community event because my neighbor had mentioned it and I wanted to support something local, but it felt messy and confusing. I wasn’t really sure where to go or what was happening, and there didn’t seem to be many people around to help. I ended up spending more time trying to figure things out than actually enjoying the event, so it felt like a bit of a waste of my afternoon

They’ve got a good range of products, and I did find a few things I liked. I just regret getting my hopes up a bit because a lot of the sizes I needed weren’t in stock

"Easy enough to shop, just a little clunky on mobile"
I had a smooth time using sportsbasement overall. The categories were easy to jump through, and the search actually found what I was looking for without much fuss. I liked that the product pages had enough details without feeling super packed or messy. The only thing that bugged me a bit was the filters on mobile, they felt kind of clunky here and there. A couple pages also loaded slower than I expected, but nothing major. All in all, it was still a solid shopping experience.

"A Little Slower Than I Thought"
It took longer than I expected, which was kind of annoying, but it wasn’t terrible. I wasn’t in a huge rush or anything, so it worked out. Just one of those things where you think it’ll be quicker, then you’re checking the time, but overall it was fine.

I’ve ordered from Sports Basement a handful of times now, mostly for outdoor gear odds and ends, and the whole experience has been easy. Shipping has been normal, the prices have felt fair, and my last order didn’t come buried in a ridiculous amount of packaging, which I appreciated. I also noticed they have used gear options and repair/reuse stuff, which is one of those things that seems small at first but actually makes shopping there feel a little better. After a few orders, I guess what I like most is that their sustainability efforts don’t come off like empty marketing. They seem to be actually trying to cut down on waste, and I’m happy with them so far

"Had to Be Way Too Patient for a Meh Tune"
I dropped my snowboard off for a tune and had to practice way more patience than I signed up for. It came back late, and after all that waiting, the edges were still rough. The staff didn’t really seem bothered by it either, which made the whole thing even more frustrating.

They did end up getting my issue handled, but it took way longer than it should have. I kept getting transferred from one person to another, which was annoying because I had to repeat myself each time. Glad it was finally sorted out, but the whole process could’ve been a lot smoother.

I shop here every now and then for gear, and it’s generally fine. The prices are okay, but I wouldn’t say they’re always better than what you’ll find elsewhere. Sometimes the discounts are worth it if you catch a good sale, though a few items still seem oddly high even after being marked down, which makes you wonder a bit. Overall, it’s not a bad place to buy from, just average when it comes to actual deals.

"Membership Was Just Okay"
The discounts were fine, like... not bad or anything, but the membership didn’t really feel worth it in the end. I just didn’t feel like I got enough out of it to justify keeping it.

"Easy curbside pickup, just a small wait"
I ordered a couple of things from Sports Basement and chose curbside pickup. Overall, it was easy. I got the email when my order was ready, called when I arrived, and someone brought everything out to my car. It did take about 10 minutes longer than I expected, which felt a little ridiculous since it was already marked ready, but it wasn’t a huge deal. Everything in the order was correct, the price was fine, and I’d probably use it again when I don’t feel like going inside.
